This instruction applies to customers posting on behalf of a company. If you have listed the item as a private individual, under no circumstances should you accept payment directly from the bidder. This is interpreted as bypassing the sale, which violates the terms of Huutokaupat.com’s consumer auction.
The method of payment for items listed on behalf of a company depends on whether the item is a Huutokaupat.com sale or a user-to-user sale. If an item listed as a Huutokaupat.com sale is paid directly to the seller instead of via Huutokaupat.com, we are not a party to the sale and therefore cannot accept any responsibility for the transaction.
Huutokaupat.com sales
When Huutokaupat.com is the seller of the item, the item cannot be paid directly to the seller, but payment must always be made through the service via a payment link, online bank payment, or bank transfer. If an item listed as a Huutokaupat.com sale is paid directly to the seller instead of via Huutokaupat.com, we are not a party to the sale and therefore cannot accept any responsibility for the transaction. User-to-user sales
If the auction is user-to-user, meaning the seller is the company that posted the auction or their client, the item is always paid directly to the seller according to the separate payment instructions provided by the seller.
The buyer receives payment instructions from the seller upon request after their offer is accepted. If the seller has entered payment details in the item listing, the buyer will find them in the email received after their offer is accepted.
In user-to-user items, the seller is responsible for providing the contract of sale and the receipt to the buyer.
Item paid contrary to payment instructions
If the bidder and the company seller have for some reason agreed to payment directly between themselves in Huutokaupat.com sales, the following should be noted:
- The item becomes a user-to-user sale, in which case the seller is the company that posted the auction, not Huutokaupat.com.
- It is the responsibility of the seller to provide the contract of sale and receipt to the buyer.
- The seller is then directly responsible for all possible post-sale matters. Huutokaupat.com does not accept any responsibility for user-to-user sales.
In such a situation, the seller must mark the item as paid via the My Page:
- Log in with the company credentials
- Find the item under My Auctions > Accepted
- For the item, click Contact Information
- A new window will open, where you can select Mark as paid
- Click confirm, after which the buyer will be notified of the payment confirmation by email.
If you have paid the item directly to the seller or accepted such a payment as a seller, please inform our customer service.
