How can I identify my own bid in an auction?

You have placed a bid in an auction, but you are no longer sure whether it is the winning bid or how much your bid was. You can easily identify your own bid in the Bids window of the listing. Remember to log in to the service so the site can link you to your bids.

When your bid is the highest

Your bid appears at the top of the list. On a green background, the text reads: You have the highest bid

When your bid has been outbid

You can recognize your previous bid by the blue background and the text: Own bid

Additionally

Bidders are numbered in each auction in the order in which bids are placed. So when you place the first bid, you are Bidder 1. The next person to place a bid is Bidder 2, and so on.

If a bidder uses the automatic bidding, their bid will be labeled: Bidder x's automatic bidding.

The item lister/seller cannot see the details of users participating in the auction. The lister receives the winner's contact information after the auction ends, once the bid has been accepted or price negotiations have started. Bidders thus remain anonymous to the lister and other bidders.
